Cardsphere's 4th Annual Secret Santa
There's no getting around it, this will be a year that we'll all remember for quite some time. I'm not going to talk about that plethora of reasons to remember (or forget) the year, I want to talk about closing it out with a bang!
...if we stop, if we accept the person we are when we fall, the journey ends. That failure becomes our destination. ...I have found, through painful experience, that the most important step a person can take is always the next one. --Dalinar Kholin
Dalinar (Brandon Sanderson) is right, no matter what the destination is, we must continue the journey by putting one foot in front of the next. For me, the journey requires as much fun and merrymaking as possible, and Cardsphere's Secret Santa is a fantastic step to take!
The last few years have been an absolute delight to participate in as we sent gifts and cheer around the world.
How it works
Once confirmed to be an active Cardsphere user, you'll receive a message from Cardsphere's own Secret Santa via the Cardsphere messaging system with a link to another user's profile, a brief description of their interests, and their mailing address. You send them out something nice in the mail. Someone else draws your profile and does the same thing for you.
Rules
By signing up, you agree that you will send to anyone with whom you've been paired. One difference this year is that we'll work to pair each user with others in the same country, if requested. Cardsphere is an international community, and often times shipping to another country costs more than the gift itself. We believe we will continue to have plenty of folks whom are willing to ship internationally, though we understand this is a deal breaker for some.
The gift you send should be worth at least $15.00 USD, and no more than $20.00 USD. We're just trying to make people smile, so including a personal note or something special or unique is encouraged.
You must mail your gift with adequate time to arrive by December 25th. Typically domestic mail takes 2-3 weeks during the holiday season, and international mail is around 5 weeks. If you want to pay extra for expedited mail, this is allowed.
Important! As with any mail, there is always a risk of lost packages. Cardsphere sees a loss rate of under 0.6%, but it still happens. This event is about the giving, not the receiving, so don't get upset if your package somehow gets lost. Just be happy that you made someone happy. Cardsphere cannot be held responsible for any undelivered packages.
To join, complete this form and Cardsphere's own Secret Santa will contact you via the Cardsphere messaging system. Registration closes November 15th!
If you have any further questions, contact Santa by messaging him here.
Can't wait to see what everyone sends out, cheers
