Sphere of Influence: May 8, 2026
Jumbo Cactuar | Art by Jason Kiantoro
Now that it's been a week since MagicCon Vegas, it's time to take a look at a few cards that are rising in value and playability. In the wake of the Pro Tour and preview panels, we've seen a lot of waves being made in the Magic community.
So, with all that in mind, let's step into the Sphere of Influence and take a look at some cards you'll either want to pick up or check if you already have in your binder.
Jumbo Cactuar - $6
Kicking off our list today, we have Jumbo Cactuar, which has been on the rise ever since Secrets of Strixhaven hit the shelves. This creature has always felt like it's on the edge of being broken since it can build its power up to 10,000 by simply attacking. If you have one in your collection, it might be wise to keep an eye on this one to see if that price continues to go up as the days go on.
Diabolic Revelation - $13
Here's a card that's sat in a lot of people's binders over the years but just got a new rise in interest. Diabolic Revelation works perfectly with Witherbloom, the Balancer, since it can lead to a big play where you could put a whole lot of important cards into your hand once this resolves. It's finally this spell's time to shine, and I love to see it.
Priest of Titania - $1
With the hype for the upcoming The Hobbit set already beginning to build, the next two cards will be good singles to pick up while they're still low. Priest of Titania taps to add a green for each Elf on the entire battlefield, which has been a powerhouse for those typal decks. As the weeks go on, expect to see some Elfball staples rise in value in preparation for our return to Middle-earth.
Magda, Brazen Outlaw - $2
Still keeping The Hobbit in mind, it may also be the right time to snag a copy of Magda, Brazen Outlaw. It's been confirmed that we're getting a whole lot of Dwarves in the set, so grabbing this two-drop that turns tapping into Treasures can help us get ahead of a potential spike. Plus, this legend can also assist with finding the brand new Smaug the Magnificent, enticing him to finally come out of the Lonely Mountain.
Until Next Time
So, what are your thoughts on this list? Do you think some of these cards will see a rise in value? Or are you busy looking in your binder right now to see if you have any copies Diabolic Revelation? Let me know in the comments below!
