Announcement - Efren Abrego to Expand Leadership Role at Cardsphere

We're thrilled to announce that Efren Abrego, one of the founders of Cardsphere, is officially joining Space Cow Media full-time! After moonlighting part-time since the beginning, Efren is now dedicating all his professional energy to the platform.

Space Cow Media acquired Cardsphere back in November 2023 when it was on the verge of closing. Thanks to Efren's efforts to keep continuity, the transition went smoothly, and he has now created more work for himself.

Efren’s focus will be more of what he’s already been doing, but he will have more time to do it. He'll continue leading community management, feature prioritization, and tackling the ever-growing complexity of foil treatments. As Cardsphere grows and expands, Efren’s leadership will be an integral part to sustaining that growth.

Over the past year, our engineering team has been hard at work behind the scenes. We've been modernizing the tech infrastructure, improving administrative features, and refreshing the back end user interface frameworks. Meanwhile, our accounting team has been nailing down automation, accuracy, and compliance to make sure the finances run as smoothly as possible.

In the past year we’ve seen some incredible growth. Trade volume has almost doubled: in August, 10,000 packages were sent, up from the 5,800 sent in November 2023. Over a thousand new users are joining the community every month. Honestly, this isn’t our doing at this stage—it’s been pure community magic, with Efren and the Tunnel Snakes leading the charge.

Looking ahead, we've got big plans! Most of our work so far has been behind the scenes, but you’ll soon start noticing improvements to the user experience. Plus, we’re ramping up marketing efforts to bring in even more traders. More users and more Efren leads to a better Cardsphere for everyone!
