Sphere of Influence: October 13th, 2026
Roxanne, Starfall Savant | Art by Ina Wong
It's been one week since our reality has officially become fractured by Magic's latest set. We've been seeing a lot of shifts through our favorite formats thanks to these new cards, so you know what that means: it's time to jump into the Sphere of Influence in order to keep an eye on a few singles that are rising in price and playability right now. So, join me Tyler 'Savesya' Bucks, as we try to get ahead of some of these trends together!
Lich's Relic - $2
I don't typically cover newer cards on this article series, but I think that Lich's Relic will begin to rise in price as more Commander players notice just how good it is for that format. Having a permanent that enters and snipes the best creature or planeswalker on each of your opponent's boards is a very powerful effect. Plus, since artifact and Equipment decks are incredibly popular, the fact that this sits in play after removing those threats is just a great upside.
Roxanne, Starfall Savant $1.50
Thanks to all those Heartwood tokens made by creatures like Aerid Konstrari, Roxanne, Starfall Savant has become very sought after. Not only does this legend add another rock to your board, but it also doubles all the mana output from the other tokens you tap. Roxanne is currently in Standard until February of 2027, which means that she could become a key part of a Gruul artifact deck until Outlaws of Thunder Junction rotates out.
Spider-Woman, Stunning Savior - $2
As I just covered, artifact decks are getting another boost in popularity right now, which is what makes Spider-Woman, Stunning Savior such a great two-drop for slowing other players down. That Venom Blast effect causes your opponent's artifacts and creatures to enter tapped, setting a few deck's main gameplans behind during a match. On top of all of that, this is just a solid 2/2 flyer for a cheap cost that helps attack and block while slowing things down.
Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong - $6.50
Scrying and surveilling also got more support from Reality Fracture, as seen on cards like Denzilore Fatehold, which means that Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong will likely continue to rise in price. Not only does it offer up a lot of value for a list that's focused on top deck manipulation, but it's also just a mythic rare from a Standard legal set, which means that it could simply balloon in value. Since it's harder for cards of that rarity to quickly dip down in price, if a 60-card format sees a deck centered around scry or surveil enter the meta, this artifact may be the go-to top end for those lists.
Until Next Time
There you have it, four cards that could start rising in price and playability thanks to the release of Reality Fracture. I hope you enjoyed this edition of Sphere of Influence, because another preview season is right around the corner. We're just a month away from boldly going to where no Magic set has ever been before (except for Edge of Eternities and Unfinity... of course): space! So, I'll see you again next time.
