Sphere of Influence: September 18th, 2026

Apparently, time flies when your universe is being copied by an insane planeswalker, because somehow: Reality Fracture prerelease is next week. We've gotten to see a whole lot of the set so far, and a few of the most eye-catching cards are none other than the five legendary deans of Hexhaven, so I thought that today we'd take a look at four singles that could start rising in price and playability thanks to those Sphinxes hitting our favorite formats.

My name is Tyler 'Savesya' Bucks and it's that time of the week again, where we get to jump into the Sphere of Influence, so let's get started!

Stigma Lasher - $3

Let's kick things off with Stigma Lasher, which is a creature that works incredibly well with Ingris Stingerquill. Since this Elder Sphinx allows attacking creatures to deal that one damage to each opponent, you can shut off every deck at the Commander table from gaining more life. That's a really wild interaction to pull off for simply moving to combat with this two drop.

Authority of the Consuls - $5

Let's shift our focus from lowering life totals to increasing our own with a deck featuring Kwia Vigorbloom. The enchantment Authority of the Consuls has always been a powerful lifegain piece, and since it was printed in Foundations, you can pair these two together in Standard. Plus, in Commander, they get even crazier, since it puts the rest of the table in a spot where they have to give you a Lotus token whenever their first creature hits the board each turn, which is a great spot for you to be in.

Matoya, Archon Elder - $1

Another team-up that could be assembled in Standard very soon is Matoya, Archon Elder and Denzilore Fatehold. There's a myriad of ways to scry or surveil out there, so having these two in play to buff up your board and draw you a card is just a wild amount of value for very little effort. If this deck is calling to you, be sure to take a closer look at any of the new cards that offer up top deck manipulation, so that you're ready to deal out damage while you accrue value.

Devastating Onslaught - $3

Finally, let's wrap things up by taking a look at a spell that works very well with Aerid Konstrari. Devastating Onslaught can make multiple temporary copies of this Sphinx, which'll create you more of those mana rocks when they enter and when they die to the legend rule. That'll build you up a lot of mana once this spell resolves, which you can then throw into Aerid's activated ability, in order to buff it up for a big game-ending attack!

You may be noticing that there's something missing from this article, so I'll address that here: Uldaros Theorix goes crazy with basically any clone. So, if you've been sitting on cards that can copy creatures or mill your own library, they could start rising in price thanks to that blue/black legend.
