Sphere of Influence: June 19th, 2026

Well, it's finally here: Marvel Super Heroes has hit the shelves. Since this set is filled with a huge number of legendary creatures, I thought I'd dedicate this edition of Sphere of Influence to be sort of a Commander special, so if you're looking to brew some new decks around your favorite Heroes or Villains, this list will help you find a few cards you might want to add to your Wants list here on Cardsphere.

Thornvault Forager - $1.50

One of the most sought-after commanders coming out in this latest set is none other than The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, which is why Thornvault Forager might be rising in price soon. This little mana dork offers you ramp as well as a way to tutor up the best Squirrel in your deck right into your hand. Plus, getting this down on turn two allows you to get the Squirrel Girl out a bit earlier. If you've had one of these in a binder since the release of Bloomburrow, this is its time to shine!

Norman Osborn - $6

Another product that's hitting our shelves from the Marvel set are the Commander Precons, one of which is helmed by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. That deck is centered around discarding cards, which is what makes Norman Osborn perfect to add to the 99. Plus, he's not just something of a Scientist himself, he's also a Villain, so he'll fit right in with the rest of the gang. Don't be surprised if this legend starts rising in price as people pick up that deck!

Jhoira's Familiar - $2.50

Let's keep those Commander decks in mind for our next card, Jhoira's Familiar. The Wakanda Forever Precon led by T'Challa, the Black Panther is all about artifacts that are over four mana, which is why this Bird would be great in that list. As a note: even when you cast an artifact for its reduced cost thanks to the Familiar, it'll still trigger the Black Panther's ability to grow with those +1/+1 counters. So, if you're picking this deck up, maybe grab a copy of this uncommon as well.

Pyrohemia - $10

Finally, let's close out this Commander special with another card that works well with a new legend from the set. Pyrohemia synergizes perfectly with Bruce Banner (specifically the back side of the card). When these two are paired together, it can set you up to have as many combats as you'd like as long as you have the red mana to pay into it. This combination can result in a massive Hulk, decimate creatures, and lower life totals across the board; truly incredible indeed.
